Dental Aftercare Instructions

Everything you need for a comfortable recovery, ready to open on your phone.

We go over your aftercare with you before you leave our Nyack dental office, but it is easy to forget the details once you are home and still a little numb. Each sheet below is a short PDF you can open on your phone, print, or keep for later, so the answer is waiting whenever you need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is some discomfort normal after dental treatment?

Yes. Mild soreness, tenderness or sensitivity for a few days is a normal part of healing after most treatments, and it should ease a little each day. If it is getting worse instead of better, call us at 845-358-5110 and we will take a look.
  • When should I call the office after a procedure?

Call us if bleeding will not slow down, swelling keeps growing after the first few days, a temporary crown or filling comes loose, or your pain is not controlled by the medicine we recommended. If you are ever unsure, call anyway. We would always rather hear from you.
  • What if these sheets differ from what Dr. Bodie told me?

Follow what Dr. Bodie told you. These sheets cover the general steps for each treatment, but the instructions he gave you for your own mouth come first. If anything seems different or unclear, give us a call at 845-358-5110.
