Sedation

Nitrous oxide, also known as "laughing gas," is a safe and effective sedative administered through a mask placed over your nose to induce relaxation. When mixed with oxygen, nitrous oxide allows for normal breathing through the nose, and its effects typically begin within minutes. Sensations such as light-headedness or tingling in the arms and legs may occur, with some patients noting a feeling of heaviness in these extremities. Ultimately, the goal is to induce comfort and calmness. The effects of nitrous oxide dissipate swiftly once the mask is removed. Discuss with your doctor whether nitrous oxide is a suitable option for you.
